SHOP POLICY

Payment options, deposit, cancellation and rescheduling

– Consultations are free
– If possible, bring cash – we do not accept card payments. If you wish to pay by bank transfer or
Paypal, or by invoice, please discuss this in advance with your tattooer
– Deposits are non-refundable. In case of a no-show, we require a new deposit in order to book a
new appointment. You can reschedule your appointment free of charge up to 48 hours before,
and you can reschedule 2 times (after that, a new deposit is in order, and the tattoo artist has
the right to refuse)

BEFORE YOUR TATTOO APPOINTMENT

– Get a good night’s sleep
– Do not consume alcohol or drugs for at least 24 hours before
– Eat a full stomach and drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated
– Wash before, ideally have a bath or sauna the day before (especially for back and chest tattoos)
– Do not shave yourself. Regular skin exfoliation is good, but avoid it 24 hours before the session

What to bring with you:

– Water bottle, snacks (chocolate, nuts, etc.), lunch for a longer session (or you can order Bolt/
Wolt to the studio)
– Entertainment (headphones, tablet for watching a movie, a book, etc.)
– Wear comfortable clothes. Prefer black or items that can get stained, and consider that the area
to be tattooed would be easily accessible
– In cold weather, you can bring wool socks and your own throw blanket
– For large sessions, bring a towel that can get stained

Please be sure to let us know in advance if you:

– have gotten sick or have a sunburn – we will book a new appointment
– want to bring a friend or family member with you (this is usually okay, but small children are
generally not allowed in the studio)
– have any skin conditions or scars in the area to be tattooed
– are currently on antibiotics, pre- or post-surgery
– have diabetes, epilepsy, hemophilia, any blood transmitted disease or are on blood thinning
medication
– are pregnant or nursing

If you have any questions, consult your tattoo artist

AFTERCARE

– Follow the instructions given by your tattoo artist
– When you leave the studio, the tattoo artist will apply either a plastic wrap, second skin sticker
or an absorbent wound dressing to protect your fresh tattoo – read the following instructions for
each option

Plastic wrap:

– If your tattoo artist has applied a plastic wrap, keep it on for a maximum of 6 hours
– Change the wrap according to your tattoo artist’s instructions

– Immediately after removing the wrap, wash the tattoo (see “Washing your tattoo”)
– If necessary, after the first wash, apply a new wrap on dry skin overnight (consult the tattoo
artist)
– Further aftercare instructions below

Second skin sticker:

– If possible, keep the second skin on for 3-5 days, following your tattoo artist’s
recommendations. If necessary, it can be changed in the studio the day after the tattoo –
consult your tattoo artist for this
– You can shower with the second skin, but not for more than 15 minutes. You should still avoid
baths, swimming and saunas, as well as sweating and direct sunlight.
– Make sure that the edges do not come loose and the skin does not develop redness. A small
amount of blood, plasma and ink collecting under the second skin is normal, but nothing
should leak out. In the above cases, the second skin should be removed. If the second skin
needs to be removed after less than 48 hours, consult your tattoo artist about the aftercare
– We recommend removing the second skin under warm running water, by pulling gently and
carefully, and then wash it immediately (see “Washing your tattoo”)
– Further aftercare instructions below

Absorbent wound dressing:

– If your tattoo artist has applied an absorbent dressing, change it according to their instructions
– Immediately after removing the dressing, wash the tattoo (see “Washing your tattoo”)
– If necessary, after the first wash, apply a new dressing on dry skin overnight (consult your
tattoo artist)
– Further aftercare instructions below

GENERAL AFTERCARE

The healing time is generally 2-3 weeks, during which it is strictly recommended to:

– Avoid saunas, baths and swimming
– Avoid heavy physical exertion (e.g. exercising) and sweating
– Protect your tattoo from the sun
– Avoid letting your tatto come into contact with dust, dirty surfaces and pets (preferably change
your bed linen, protect the tattooed area with clean clothes)
– Protect the tattoo from friction (e.g. wear comfortable clothes that are not too tight)
– Avoid alcohol (especially fermented drinks such as craft beer, cider, red wine) and narcotics
– Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water

Washing your tattoo:

– Wash your tattoo twice a day (morning and evening), and also extra if it gets sweaty or dirty
– First wash your hands thoroughly, then rub the tattoo gently but thoroughly with the palm of
your hand with soap foam, then rinse. Be sure to use a neutral soap, without any fragrances or
dyes (e.g. hypoallergenic, baby soap, 0% soap)
– Be sure to wash with warm water (as hot as you can stand)
– Avoid getting any shampoo, shower gel, body or hand cream, etc. on the tattoo
– Let it air dry, gently dry with paper towels (Zewa) or use a separate, completely clean towel for
drying the tattoo (do not rub!)

Moisturizing your tattoo:

– Start applying cream when the tattoo is completely dry, usually 3-5 days after it is done
– Always wash your hands and tattoo before applying cream (see “Washing your tattoo” and let
the skin air dry properly)
– Rub a thin layer of cream into the skin, so that there is no visible layer of cream left on the skin
– Wash and apply cream to the tattoo 2-3 times a day until it is completely healed
– Use only creams recommended by the tattoo artist (e.g. Bephanten PLUS, Hustle Butter,
Palmers Cocoa Butter ointment)
– Sunscreen should only be applied to the tattoo after it has completely healed (50SPF, UV-A and
UV-B protection)

– Peeling and itching of the skin are both a normal part of the healing process. Do not scretch the
tattoo, or pick at the skin or scabs (they will come off on their own when the time is right,
usually during washing and applying cream)
– In case of any problems (inflammation, rash, allergy, etc.), consult your tattoo artist and doctor
– Always follow your tattoo artist’s advice

ENJOY YOUR NEW TATTOO!
